Social and Environmental Impact Assessment

Social Impact Assessment (SIA) consists of several steps, started with social indicator, secondly, data collection, then analysis, continued with social mapping and finally ended with monitoring.

It is expected that community where the program/activity delivered will get maximum positive impact and minimum negative impact in social aspect. Same as SIA, Environmental Impact Assessment implemented as an effort to maximize positive impact and minimize negative impact of a program/activity to a community and its surrounding environment.

Trees4Trees Participation in IFFINA Fair

During the IFFINA fair, Trees4Trees presented various information on programs delivered, introducing retailer, supplier and distributor about the benefit of becoming member of Trees4Trees. Public also aware of importance of replacing trees which exploited for furniture products.

As result of the participation, some foreign buyers and retailers contacted Trees4Trees and expressed their interest to become member of Trees4Trees.

Socialization of 2011 Planting Plan

Socialization of 2011 Planting Plan was performed to farmers in new Target Area, Gunungwungkal, Pati District. Planning Manager, Mr, Munhaji led the socialization. The socialization material were planting, maintenance and harvesting.

Production trial in Pati Management Unit was a part of community forestry development.

Production trial in Pati Management Unit was a part of community forestry development. Detail of the production activity: tree inventory classified into production, diameter measurement, age of tree, cutting, loading and transportation.

Some workers were loading Sengon onto a truck.

After being loaded to the truck, the timber then transported to some processors. One of them was PT. Albasia Bhumiphala Persada (ABP) which already had agreement with Trees4Trees before.

Meanwhile, supplier and retailer came at the same period, Kadjeng Pratama and a retailer from United Kingdom. Their visit to planting area was facilitated by Trees4Trees.

       
The supplier describing location visited to retailer. In the location, supplier and retailer interacted and observed plants at a time.   A farmer was explaining to visitors about kind of plants planted, their age and progress, including challenges during development.
 
Discussion among retailer, supplier, farmer and a staff of Trees4Trees on the spot. Here they shared information from their point of view and finding solutions for the problems.  The delegation was taking picture of a farmer who was cultivating his soil.

Ecotourism opportunity Survey

During this month, Trees4Trees arranged survey to locations which were possible to develop as eco-tourism in Pati District.

 

Some of the visited locations were valley, creek and path.

 

The activity was delivered as recommended by PUM, a non profit organization based in The Netherland.
