Alongside his main occupation as a teacher, Agus’ dedication to farming led to healthy, thriving trees, earning him recognition as the Trees4Trees Best Farmer in 2021.

Among trees planted by Tasum, he discovered the value of the rudraksha tree for its spiritually significant fruits, which became his livelihood for more than a decade.

Previously, Sar’an planted shading trees like mahogany and gmelina. The trees he received from Trees4Trees enrich the variety of trees in his field. Unlike others, he has kept his land from being sold. In his seventies, he is motivated to restore soil fertility in his village amid land conversion.

Aan is one of few young farmers who actively farm in his village. The trees he chose to plant were species that thrive on drought-prone land and provide valuable livestock fodder. For his dedication to growing trees, he was recognized as one of the best farmers in 2021. 

After returning to her village from the city, where she worked as a housemaid, Ratiyem began farming alongside her husband. Through this tree-planting program, she has become a productive women farmer, generating additional income from the yields of the trees she planted.

With 16 years of experience in growing coffee from his previous work, Sumeri successfully cultivates and sells coffee beans. Now in his seventies, he remains passionate about farming.
